Education, Training, and Experience

I completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Oklahoma State University in 1988, master’s degree in forensic psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY) in 1994, and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Argosy University Dallas in 2008. Along the way I trained formally in the following agencies:

  • Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation
  • Southern Methodist University
  • Dallas Independent School District

In the past I gained my experience working in a variety of settings including general psychiatric and forensic hospitals, detoxification units, community-based training programs, and private offices. Over the last 15 years I worked in several public school districts across Texas, including Dallas ISD, Pearland ISD, Austin ISD, San Marcos CISD, and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. I began an early career in professional psychology, first as a psychological assistant, then later a psychological associate, and shortly thereafter a specialist in school psychology. I have been licensed by the state of Texas since 1995.
